Fig 5. This is a photograph of my own glove with the rubber removed from the palm. Note the web of the thumb still has rubber in contact with the hand stop. The rubber is removed to allow me to “feel” the position of the left hand in contact with the stock, and is used also in standing with the palm rest, and the kneeling position.
It is also a good indication of the straight wrist, and the position of the stock over the flat of the heel of the thumb, while indicating the profile of the fore end of the stock. (See text).
